About (Profile/Biography):
Raymond Elias Feist was born on December 21, 1945. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is a famous American fantasy fiction author who created a series of novels and short stories titled The Riftwar Cycle. He has written more than 15 million books, most of which have been translated into multiple languages. His mother remarried when he was a child, and he took the surname of his adoptive stepfather, Felix E. Feist, when he was an adult.
Raymond E. Feist Education:
The University of California at San Diego awarded him an honorary bachelor's degree in Communication Arts in 1977, after he had graduated with a "B.A." in Communication Arts.
Raymond E. Feist Career:
In 1982, his novel was published by Doubleday, which was eight years after he wrote it. The official website of Feist indicates that he currently resides in San Diego, California.
The game "Midkemia" was originally designed by Feist and his friends at the University of California, San Diego, as an alternative to the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game, as a way to get away from the monotony of the game.
There is no doubt that Feist was influenced by the Tekumel setting from "M. A. R. Barker's Empire" of the Petal Throne as the basis for Kelewan.
The only novel Feist published outside the Riftwar Cycle, which takes place in a contemporary setting rather than the fantasy setting of the Riftwar Cycle, was Faerie Tale, which takes place in modern New York State. Several of his short stories have also been published in anthologies of various genres.
