Anna Pigeon is best known for her mystery novels set in United States national parks. She is the author of 13 1/2, Seeking Enlightenment, and Bittersweet, stand-alone novels. Throughout her long career, she has written more than 20 books. Her work as an actor has spanned television, film, commercials, and theater for nearly twenty years since she graduated from the University of California, Irvine.
Career:
Upon receiving her master's degree at the University of California at Irvine, Barr trained in drama and worked as an actor for 18 years.
The Natchez Trace Parkway in Mississippi was her first permanent park ranger job. Then, in 1978, when she was 26 years old, Barr began writing seriously.
It was published in 1984 that she wrote her first historical book, Bittersweet.
The first mystery novel she published was Track of the Cat in 1993. As a debut novel, this was awarded two awards.
Anna Pigeon began painting in 1996.
She now lives in Oregon after moving after her third marriage to Donald Paxton.
