Michael Crichton, a well-known American author, was born in Chicago. Throughout his life, Michael Crichton held a variety of positions. It's interesting to note that he showed a propensity for writing at a young age and pursued a career. Odds On, his debut piece of writing, was released in 1966. He used a few pseudonyms in the early years. The ability of Crichton to blend factual, technical information with fiction set his work apart from those of his contemporaries. Because of this, his novels had a realistic sense to them.
Career:
Michael started writing books while attending Harvard Medical School under the pen names "John Lange," "Jeffrey Hudson," and "Michael Douglas." Odds On, his first book, Scratch One, Easy Go, and the Edgar Award-winning novel A Case of Need are just a few of his early works.
Michael's three books, "Zero Cool," "The Andromeda Strain," and "The Venom Business" were published in 1969. The Andromeda Strain was the book that brought him critical acclaim, even though both the first and third novels were favorably received.
Over 200 million copies of Michael's work have been sold globally overall. Fourteen of his overall 31 books—14 works of fiction, 15 works of nonfiction, and two posthumous books—have been made into movies.
While the film adaptation of his book, Jurassic Park, became a blockbuster movie, the television adaptation of Michael's book, ER, ranked first on the television ranking chart. The book "Disclosure" was also hailed as a huge success.
Michael was particularly good at writing technology thrillers, medical fiction, and science fiction.
