Zain Javadd Malik was born in Bradford on 12 January 1993. He is a British singer. Zayn was auditioned for the British music competition The X Factor as a solo entrant in 2010. He was invited back into the contest after being eliminated as a solo artist, including four contestants, to create the boy band in one Direction, which moved on to become one of the best-selling boy bands of all time.
