Liverpool goes sturdy as Captain Jordan Henderson and Fabhino return to the begging line-up, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain uniting him at midfield. In addition, Virgil van Dijk returns after a COVID hiatus, and Klopp returns to the top of the line-up with Salah, Mané, and Jota.
Unlike Liverpool, Leicester is coming off a brief break. So let’s take them out.
First Half
The first few minutes are a bit tense, but not without action. In the fourth minute, Joel Matip was sent off for a clumsy challenge that thwarted a counterattack. For the seasoned defender, this isn’t ideal.
Leicester hasn’t had many chances in the first half, but they’re having a late flurry as we near the end. So Liverpool could have to wait it out until halftime to regroup.
Second Half
Klopp has had enough, or rather, hasn’t had enough, and Naby Keita is set to come on after only 10 minutes of the first half. He will take the place of Ox.
The Reds are now facing difficulties. However, it won’t be through a lack of chances that Liverpool fails to win today. Salah’s failed penalty comes to mind. But Mané also squandered a fantastic 1-v-1 opportunity right before Leicester’s score.
Klopp responds to the goal by replacing Fabinho with James Milner. Liverpool continues to press for a goal, but they aren’t getting any closer.
