The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping returns to Panem for a story set 24 years before Katniss Everdeen’s first Games. Scheduled for release on November 20, 2026, the film adapts Suzanne Collins’s novel and revisits one of the most feared events in the history of the districts: the Fiftieth Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell. Francis Lawrence directs, continuing his work in the film series.

The story begins on the morning of the reaping in District 12. Sixteen-year-old Haymitch Abernathy is pulled away from the life he knows and sent toward the Capitol’s arena. For this anniversary edition, the rules are especially cruel: each district must provide four tributes rather than the usual two, bringing 48 young people into a competition designed to entertain the Capitol and reinforce its power. The Games test more than physical survival; they expose how fear, spectacle, and political control shape life across Panem.
Inside the arena, Haymitch forms an unexpected alliance with fellow tribute Maysilee Donner. Their struggle unfolds against a system built to turn young people into rivals, while Haymitch’s connection to Lenore Dove Baird gives the events a deeply personal cost. At the centre of the Capitol’s authority stands President Coriolanus Snow, whose rule depends on keeping the districts divided and obedient. The film’s premise follows Haymitch as he risks everything to resist the Games from within, setting in motion consequences that will echo into the later rebellion.
This quiz focuses on four central figures: Haymitch Abernathy, Maysilee Donner, Lenore Dove Baird, and President Snow. It draws on the film’s established premise and character relationships rather than asking you to recall scenes or predict unreleased details. Each option reflects a different instinct—resourcefulness, courage, loyalty, or control. Choose the response that feels most natural, then tally the character names in brackets to discover whose approach most closely resembles yours. There are no right or wrong answers.
