The Grand Tour returns in 2026 with a completely new trio behind the wheel. Francis Bourgeois, James Engelsman, and Thomas Holland take over the famous motoring adventure series, bringing their own personalities, automotive knowledge, humour, and enthusiasm to a new six episode season. Rather than copying the personalities of the previous presenters, the new team has its own chemistry and approach to travelling the world in questionable cars.Show More
Francis Bourgeois arrives with an unusual combination of trainspotting fame, mechanical engineering knowledge, and an infectious fascination with machines. His background includes engineering experience at Rolls Royce, while his ability to recognise cars by their engine sounds adds a distinctive technical edge to the trio. His enthusiasm often turns even an ordinary automotive detail into something worth investigating.
James Engelsman brings the perspective of an experienced automotive creator. Alongside Thomas Holland, he helped build the popular Throttle House channel, known for energetic reviews and unconventional car opinions. James is particularly associated with individual automotive taste, enthusiast culture, and unusual choices, including his famous Toyota Century project.
Thomas Holland completes the trio with a stronger performance focused approach. He is an automotive journalist and amateur race car driver whose interests lean toward high performance vehicles. His chemistry with James comes from years of creating automotive content together, while Francis adds a very different energy to their established partnership.
The 2026 season takes the three presenters through a series of increasingly unpredictable automotive adventures. Their first journey takes them across Southern California, where they compare extreme American performance cars while racing fighter jets. They then investigate cheap sports cars in Singapore and Malaysia before taking tiny Japanese Kei cars to Colorado and tackling Pikes Peak.
Later adventures involve testing which car can survive destructive challenges, racing a Pagani Utopia against public transport to the Belgian Grand Prix, and travelling through Angola in unsuitable track cars. Across these challenges, the trio's different attitudes toward speed, engineering, cars, risk, and absurd situations become part of the entertainment.
