At the center is Eiji Mizuhashi, a highly skilled chef whose career at a prestigious restaurant collapses after an unspecified incident. Guarded and emotionally withdrawn, he ends up cooking at a nursing home. His talent remains, but the experience has left him wary of people and reluctant to let others close.
Meanwhile, Kana Osawa works as a director for a recipe-video company. She is grieving the death of her grandfather, Shinro, and the closure of his much-loved Western-style restaurant, Kitchen Osawa. The restaurant was more than a business: its dishes carried the family's history, and Kana wants to protect the taste and meaning her grandfather left behind.
Kana's grandmother, Tomoko Osawa, is also struggling after Shinro's death. Having moved into a nursing home, she has lost much of her appetite for life. That begins to change when she tastes Eiji's cooking and finds comfort in a pork sauté that tastes exactly like the signature dish from Kitchen Osawa.
The uncanny similarity leads Kana to investigate Eiji's past. She discovers that he once worked at the same prestigious restaurant as her grandfather. Hoping to preserve her grandfather's food and the place built around it, Kana and Tomoko approach Eiji with a proposal, challenging him to face the past he has tried to shut away.
The drama's emotional heart lies in the way cooking connects people who are carrying different kinds of loss. Its signature pork sauté becomes a link between generations, a reminder that a recipe can preserve affection long after someone is gone. This quiz uses those themes—not plot trivia—to match your instincts, values, and way of caring for others with one of the story's four central characters.
