Aatish Ali Taseer, a well-known British-American writer, was born in London, England in 1980. His parents were Pakistani businessman Salman Taseer and Indian journalist Tavleen Singh. His parents were in an extramarital relationship for a short while and were never married. He was raised by his mother. In 2001, Taseer completed degree in Political Science at the University of Massachusetts.

In 2010: Taseer published an article titled "Tolerance test for New York" that discussed the issue surrounding the potential construction of the "Ground Zero Mosque" in Manhattan.

In 2011: Since his father's murder on January 6, 2011, Taseer has written articles about the state of Pakistan.

In 2009: More than 14 different languages were used to translate Taseer's debut book Stranger to History: A Son's Journey Through Islamic Lands.

In 2011: Taseer published an article for the Financial Times headlined "Pakistan's Rogue Army Runs a Shattered State" a few days after Osama bin Laden's murder.

Aatish Taseer Citizenship:

In 2019: The Indian Ministry of Home Affairs cancelled Taseer's Indian citizenship on the grounds that he tried to "conceal information that his father was of Pakistani origin." 
On July 27, 2020, Taseer became a citizen of the US.
