Simone Arianne Biles was born on March 14, 1997. A gymnast from the United States, she specializes in artistic gymnastics. In terms of Olympic medals won by American gymnasts, she is tied with Shannon Miller with seven medals. She is the most decorated gymnast in history, awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Joe Biden in 2022, having won 25 World Championship medals.
Career:
A daycare field trip introduced Biles to gymnastics at age six. When she was eight years old, Aimee Boorman began training her.
As a 14-year-old, Biles competed in the 2011 American Classic in Houston, which marked the beginning of an elite career.
2012: In Huntsville, Texas, Biles competed in her first meet. All-around, vault, floor exercise, balance beam, and uneven bars were placed first, tied for second, and placed fourth.
2013: Biles' senior international debut was at American Cup, an event of the FIG World Cup. The American Classic was held in July, and Biles competed in the event.
2014: The "U.S. Classic in Chicago" marked her debut. She won the all-around by a wide margin and tied Ross for first on vault, beam, and floor. In Nanning, China, Biles will compete at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in 2014.
2015: At AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Biles participated in the 2015 AT&T American Cup. As a result, she won.
The Athlete Selection Committee reviewed recent videos of Biles' performance and re-added her to the National Team on March 1.
2021: During the U.S. Classic all-around competition, she performed a Yurchenko double pike vault, a first for a woman.
