Candace Nicole Parker is a basketball player who was born on April 19, 1986. Currently playing for the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association, she is an American professional basketball player. WNBA draft of 2008, she was selected by Los Angeles Sparks as the first overall pick. In addition to playing forward and center, Parker is a versatile player. A two-time winner of the Gatorade National Girls Basketball Player of the Year award, Parker became the second junior and only woman to receive the award.

As a female athlete, she was twice named Gatorade Female Athlete of the Year. Furthermore, she was a WBCA All-American and a McDonald's All-American in 2004.
In 2004, she scored nine points during the WCBA All-America Game.
As a 15-year-old sophomore, Parker dunked for the first time in a competition on December 27, 2001.
Parker averaged 16.6 points and 8.8 rebounds per game for the undefeated USA Junior World Championship team in August 2004.
