Vanessa Carlton is an American singer who has worked in the music industry for two decades. Carlton was born on August 16, 1980, in Milford, Pennsylvania, the first of three children of Edmund "Ed" Carlton, a pilot, and Heidi Lee. She signed her first recording contract with A&M Records. Vanessa has released six studio albums, achieved three Grammy Award nominations, and had multiple successful singles on the charts.
