Linda Maria Ronstadt is an American singer who has been considered one of the most successful female recording artists of all time. She was born in 1946 in Tucson, Arizona, and grew up in a family with a strong musical background. She started singing at age six and quickly developed a love for music. In the 1960s, she moved to Los Angeles where she began to pursue her career in music. Linda Maria Ronstadt released more than 30 albums and had 10 Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. She has also won 11 Grammy Awards, 2 Academy of Country Music Awards and 1 Emmy Award.

Linda Ronstadt Beginning of Professional Career: (1964): Ronstadt formed a folk trio with her brother Peter and Sister Gretchen. The group played coffeehouses, fraternity houses, and other small venues, billing themselves as "the Union City Ramblers" and "the Three Ronstadts".
Linda Ronstadt as Solo Career: (1969): Still contractually obligated to Capitol Records, Ronstadt released her first solo album, Hand Sown and Home Grown, in 1969. It has been called the first alternative country record by a female recording artist.
