Katharine McPhee was born on March 25, 1984. She is an actress and singer from the United States. She finished runner-up on American Idol's fifth season in May 2006. She released her debut album on RCA Records on January 30, 2007, and it reached number two on the Billboard 200 with sales of 381,000 copies (as of December 2010). She played Karen Cartwright on Smash, one of the lead roles, and co-starred in The House Bunny and Shark Night 3D. From 2014 to 2018, she played Paige Dineen in CBS' Scorpion. Her Broadway debut was in the musical Waitress, where she took on the role of Jenna in 2018 and again in 2019-2020. In 2019, she also played a role in London's West End.
