Terri Sewell was born on 1st January, 1965 in Alabama. She brought up in Selma, Alabama, and developed a solid sense of civil rights activism from her parents. Sewell joined Princeton University, where she acknowledged a Bachelor of Arts degree in American History.She later produced a Master of Public Administration degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Terri Sewell Career:
• 2002: Sewell began her career as an attorney working in private practice in Birmingham, Alabama. She specialized in corporate law and public finance, gaining valuable legal experience.
• 2008: Sewell ran for the United States House of Representatives representing Alabama's 7th congressional district. She gets the Democratic primary and went on to win the over-all election, becoming the first African American woman chosen to Congress from Alabama. She has been reflected multiple times since then.
• 2010: Sewell played a crucial role in advocating for the passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as Obamacare. She was a vocal enthusiast of the legislature and worked to ensure that all Americans have access to affordable healthcare.
