•    2004: Harris is elected as the District Attorney of San Francisco, making her the first woman of color to hold the position in California's history.
•    2010: Harris becomes the first African American woman to serve as California's Attorney General, where she focuses on criminal justice reform, advocating for victims' rights, and combating transnational gangs.
