Jonathan Reynolds is a British Labour and Co-operative politician who has represented Stalybridge and Hyde in Parliament since 2010. Born on 28 August 1980 in Houghton-le-Spring, Tyne and Wear, he grew up in a working-class family before studying Politics and Modern History at the University of Manchester. He later trained in law and served on Tameside Council. Reynolds held several senior opposition roles before entering government, including Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions and Shadow Business Secretary. In July 2026, he became Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade.
