Jimmy Carter, a well-known President of the United States, was born in Georgia. Jimmy Carter, sometimes known as James Earl Carter Jr., was the 39th President of the United States from 1977 to 1981. He came from a farming background and went to the US Naval Academy, where he earned an engineering degree. 

Jimmy Carter Political Career:

He began his political career in the 1960s and was elected governor of Georgia in 1970, serving during which time he established a reputation as a moderate and reform-minded official.

He established the Carter Center, a non-profit dedicated to advancing human rights, democracy, and global health.

Carter remained involved in politics after leaving office and rose to become one of the most significant previous presidents in American history. 

However, a number of difficulties, such as an energy crisis, rising inflation, and high interest rates, characterized Carter's presidency.

Carter concentrated on international affairs throughout his presidency, negotiating the Camp David Accords between Israel and Egypt and mediating a peace deal between the two countries. He also put into effect a number of national laws that supported human rights and energy conservation.

Carter campaigned for president of the United States in 1976 and defeated Gerald Ford in the election.
