Jawaharlal Nehru, one of the known personalities in India was born on November 14, 1889, in Allahabad, India. Nehru was born to wealthy lawyer Swaroop Rani and prominent Indian independence leader Motilal Nehru. Brahmins from the Saraswat caste made up the Nehru family. When Nehru returned to India in 1912, he graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University. As part of his parents' arrangements, he married a Kashmiri businesswoman from Delhi in 1916, Kamala, who was 17 years old at the time. During his tenure as a political leader, he was guided by his mentor, Mohandas Gandhi.

The year 1912: Marked their return to India of Nehru after graduating from Trinity College, Cambridge University.
In 1916: Nehru married Kamala Kaul. In 1917, their only daughter Indira was born. Despite Kamala's best efforts, the boy died after just one week of life.
