In Giffnock, Scotland, on February 20, 1951, Gordon Brown was born. John Ebenezer Brown, a Church of Scotland clergyman and a significant figure in Brown's life, was his father. His mother, Jessie Elizabeth "Bunty" Brown, was a wood dealer named John Souter's daughter.Brown received his initial education at Kirkcaldy West Primary School, where he was chosen for an experimental fast stream program. This program allowed him to attend Kirkcaldy High School two years ahead of schedule, where he received an intellectual hothouse education in distinct classrooms.

Gordon Brown Career before Parliament: 
• Brown worked as a political science lecturer at Glasgow College of Technology from 1976 to 1980. 
• In addition, he was an Open University tutor.
Gordon Brown Election to Parliament and opposition: 
• In the 1983 general election, Brown made a second attempt to win a seat in Parliament as a Labour MP, this time representing Dunfermline East.
