The 1970s: His first band was a Beatles cover group called The Jades, which he joined at fourteen years old before switching to guitar shortly after that. Zorky Charlemagne played guitar in many blues-based rock bands during the 1970s and occasionally worked menial jobs.
1980: His advertisement in the Los Angeles newspaper The Recycler described him as a "loud, rude, and aggressive guitar player." He was hired by Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee, who were creating Mötley Crüe.
