Graham Nash was born in 1942 and is an English-American musician, singer, and songwriter. His light tenor voice made him a popular member of both the Hollies and Crosby, Stills & Nash. In addition, Nash collects and publishes photography. The OBE was awarded to him for his charitable and musical contributions to the Birthday Honours List of 2010.
Graham Nash Career:
• 1960: Graham Nash co-founded the Hollies with school friend Allan Clarke in the early 1960s and was credited as the group's leader on their first recording.
• 1972: Graham Nash and Crosby formed a successful duo during CSNY's first hiatus 1972. A few live and compilation albums were also produced in this configuration on and off for many years. Crosby & Nash's biggest hit as a duo, "Immigration Man," was inspired by a confrontation he had with a US Customs official while trying to enter the country.
• 1979: Graham Nash co-founded Musicians United for Safe Energy in 1979. MUSE organized the educational fundraising event No Nukes. A new version of Buffalo Springfield's "For What It's Worth" was recorded in 2007.
• 1990: Graham Nash bought an IRIS Graphics 3047 inkjet printer in July 1990 and installed it in a small carriage house in California. Coons and Boulter used it in November 1990 for Parco Stores in Tokyo to print an even larger show of Nash's work.
• 2005: Graham Nash collaborated with A-ha on "Over the Treetops" (written by Paul Waaktaar-Savoy) and "Cosy Prisons" (written by Magne Furuholmen) for Analogue in 2005.
• 2010: The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted Nash as the second Hollies member in 2010. His nomination for an OBE came in the Diplomatic and Overseas Division of the Queen's Birthday Honours List on 12 June 2010.
