Alexander Wang is a fashion designer from the USA. Wang launched his Alexander Wang clothing brand in 2005. After receiving the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2008, he gained notoriety. He is well known for using black and creating graphics with an urban feel. He received his elementary and middle school education at the Harker School in San Jose, California. He spent his ninth grade year at the Stevenson School in Pebble Beach, California. Wang afterwards attended and completed his studies at the Drew School in San Francisco. Wang participated in a summer design programme at Central Saint Martins when he was 15 years old.
Career:
In 2005: After studying at Parsons for two years, Wang made the decision to start his own fashion company, which he launched with a collection that featured mostly knitwear.
In 2007: Wang received praise from critics for the first time he showed an entire women’s ready-to-wear collection on the New York catwalk.
In 2011: The Wang first flagship store opened in Lower Manhattan’s SoHo District.
In 2014: Wang revealed that he would be designing a line for the Swedish-based H&M store.
In 2016: He succeeded his mother, Ying Wang, and sister-in-law, Aimee Wang, as the CEO and chairman of the Wang company.

In 2008: Wang won the Vogue Fashion Fund/Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Award.
In 2011: GQ US honored Wang the Best Menswear Designer of the Year.
In 2013: Wang received the Fashion Group International’s “Fashion Star” Award.
