Uday Kotak was born on 15 March 1959. Kotak Mahindra Bank is run by him as executive vice chairman and managing director. He chose to become a mathematician because of his mathematical talent. In 1982, he received a postgraduate degree in management studies from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies after graduating from Sydenham College.
Career:
In 2003: The Reserve Bank of India granted the first banking license to Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd. on 22 March 2003.
The company Kotak Capital Management Finance Ltd was founded by Kotak after he completed his MBA.
In 2014: Following the $2.4 billion deal Kotak signed with rival ING Vysya Bank in November 2014, Kotak almost doubled his wealth in 2014.
In 2015: A small payments bank was founded by Kotak in partnership with Telecom magnate Sunil Mittal's Bharti Airtel.
In 2019: A monthly salary of Rs 27 lakh made him one of the highest-paid CEOs of any Indian bank.
