Heather Manchin Bresch was born on June 27, 1969. In addition to being a business executive, she is also an author. Heather Bresch is the first woman who ran a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company and was named CEO of the Netherlands-based pharmaceutical company Mylan in 2012. The combination of Mylan and Upjohn will close in 2020, and Bresch will retire. 
Heather Bresch Career:
1992: The chief executive officer of Mylan grew from a clerk to the company's chief executive officer in 2012.
The director of government relations at Mylan from 2002 to 2005 was Bresch.
2010: The Generic Drug User Fee Act was proposed to lawmakers after Bresch persuaded several of Mylan's competitors to support it.
2011: It was announced that Bresch would become CEO, and she officially assumed the position in January 2012.
2014: Bresch and Mylan purchased Abbott Laboratories for $5.3 billion as part of a tax inversion plan to reorganize the company.
