Edward H. Bastian was born on June 6, 1957. A business executive, he is an American. Serving in this position since May 2, 2016, he is the ninth chief executive officer of Delta Air Lines. His family lived in Poughkeepsie, New York, where he was the eldest of nine children. In addition to his father being a dentist, his mother was also a dentist assistant. The couple operated their business using the family home as a dental practice. A 1975 graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie, he currently lives in New York City.
