Brian Moynihan, a well-known American investment banker, was born in Ohio. Businessman Brian Moynihan serves as Bank of America's chairman and CEO. Moynihan worked in the banking sector for a number of years prior to joining the Bank of America in 2009 as head of consumer and small business banking (SBB). He oversaw Fleet's brokerage and wealth management section in his capacity as executive vice president. Moynihan "once again spelled out his company's plan to meet regulatory capital requirements and denied that the bank will have to issue additional stock to raise capital," John Carney of CNBC wrote in 2011.

Career:

Moynihan graduated from Brown University in 1981 after studying history and serving as co-captain of the rugby team.

Moynihan joined Bank of America (BoA) as president of worldwide wealth and investment management after BoA and FleetBoston Financial merged in 2004.

After Merrill Lynch was acquired by BoA and he was named CEO, Bank of America hired him as its head of operations.

The planned $5 monthly charge for debit card holders wasn't the best idea, Moynihan "confessed," according to Julia LaRoche's article in Business Insider on December 27, 2011.

Achievements and Awards:

Moynihan was chosen as Merrill Lynch's CEO in 2008 after BoA bought the company.

After Ken Lewis resigned as CEO of BoA in 2010, Brian was elevated to that position. Moynihan currently serves as the head of a number of different organizations.

Unknown facts:

Moynihan has also held positions with Countrywide Bank, Travelers Aid Society of Rhode Island, and LaSalle Bank Midwest NA in the past.
