Lakshmi Niwas Mittalis a British steel tycoon who was born in India and is located in the UK. He serves as both the Chairman of stainless-steel producer Aperam and the Executive Chairman of ArcelorMittal, the largest steel producer in the world. Mittal has a 38% ownership holding in ArcelorMittal and a 20% ownership position in Queens Park Rangers of the EFL Championship.As a member of the Goldman Sachs board of directors since 2008, Mittal has served at the highest levels of the company.In 2011, Forbes classified him as the sixth-wealthiest person in the world, but in March 2015, he plummeted to 82nd position.

In 1989:State-owned steel works in Trinidad and Tobago that were operating at a significant deficit were acquired by Mittal.
In 1995:An amount of IR£1 was paid to Mittal by the government for the Irish Steel plant based in Cork, Ireland.
In 2001:He renamed his Kazakstani operation IspatKarmet and acquired assets renamed Ispat Mexicana.
In 2006-07:Mittal succeeded in purchasing Arcelor in a hostile takeover bid, renaming it Arcelor Mittal.
In 2020:While the COVID-19 pandemic was in India, he donated 100 crores to PM cares fund.

In 1996: He became the Steel Maker of the Year.
In 2004: Forbes named him European Businessman of the Year.
In 2008: He got the Padma Vibhushan.

Unknown Facts:
He began working at the mill in 1970 as a trainee, and in 1976, as a result of the Indian government's control over the manufacturing of steel, he established his own steel business in Sidoarjo, Indonesia.
Abhinav Bindra received a cheque for Rs. 1.5 crore from Mittal in 2008 for winning shooting in the Olympics, giving India its first individual gold medal.
