Jack Crawford Taylor, a well-known American businessman, was born in 1922, in Missouri. Before joining in the US Navy and flying fighters in World War II, he attended St. Louis Country Day School.

Jack C. Taylor Entrepreneurial Ventures:

After the war, Taylor founded a car leasing company called Executive Leasing in 1957, which later became Enterprise Rent-A-Car. 

He started with a fleet of only seven cars and eventually grew the company into one of the largest car rental companies in the world, with over 7,000 locations in 30 countries.

Jack C. Taylor Philanthropy:

Taylor was a generous philanthropist, establishing the Taylor Family Foundation to support charitable causes, including education, healthcare, and the arts. 

He also donated over $50 million to the Missouri Botanical Garden, where a wing of the garden is named in his honor.

Jack C. Taylor Honors:

The United States Naval Institute in Annapolis is currently building the Jack C. Taylor Conference Center as a tribute to his distinguished career as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Navy, as well as his notable achievements as an entrepreneur, business leader, and philanthropist.

Jack C. Taylor Personal Life and Legacy:

Taylor was married three times and had three children. He passed away on July 2, 2016, at the age of 94. 

In addition to his philanthropic endeavors, Taylor is remembered for his entrepreneurial spirit and for creating a successful business that has provided jobs and opportunities for thousands of people around the world. He was posthumously inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame in 2019.
