Cyrus Pallonji Mistry was a businessman from India. From 2012 until 2016, he served as the chairman of the Indian commercial empire Tata Group. He was the group's sixth president and only the second (after Nowroji Saklatwala) to not have a Tata last name. He was chosen by a team of judges to be the Tata Group's new CEO in the middle of 2012, and he assumed the position in December of the same year. Mistry was fired as chairman by Tata Sons, the investment group for the Tata Group, in October 2016. After Ratan Tata, the previous chairman, returned in an administrative capacity, Natarajan Chandrasekaran was chosen to take over as chairman a few months later.
