Craig McCaw was born on 11 August 1949. He is an American businessman, entrepreneur, and pioneer in the cellular phone industry and market. His contributions are not just significant, but they have shaped the very landscape of this industry. He is the esteemed founder of McCaw Cellular, now part of AT&T Mobility, and Clearwire Corporation, now part of T-Mobile. His mother's name was Marion, and his father's was J. Elroy McCaw. 
Craig McCaw early life 
Craig McCaw, the second of four sons, was born into a family that lived in the affluent gated highland community north of Seattle. Craig McCaw's father was the owner of Gotham Broadcasting Corporation and he was also doing a  business of commercialization of Television and radio stations. However, tragedy struck at the age of 57 when his father passed away in 1969, leaving behind a company in Centralia, Washington, with an estimated 2000 to 4000 subscribers and a significant debt that was not sold to repay.

• Craig McCaw planned to enter the broadband and ISP market and became the founder of NEXTLINK Communications. 
• NEXTLINK Communications linked up with Concentric Network, and now it was to be called XO Communications.
• In 2004, Craig McCaw founded Clearwire Corporation, a wireless broadband Internet service provider.
• In 2007, Clearwire  is that company which providing their services in 46 markets in the united states . a well-known company, could offer its services in 46 markets in the US and four markets in Europe. 
• In January 2009 at Portland, Clearwire  had launched its first 4G mobile WiMAX network
