On March 24, 1947, in Hackney, East London, England, Alan Sugar was born. Nathan Sugar was an East End tailor in the apparel industry. Alan Sugar was his son. In Upper Clapton, Hackney, Alan Sugar enrolled in Northwold Primary School and later Brooke House Secondary School. He also worked as a greengrocer to supplement his income. For a brief period, Alan Sugar was employed by the Ministry of Education as a statistician in the civil service.

Alan Sugar Start Amstrad: 

• In 1968, at the age of 21, Alan Sugar used £100 in savings from the Post Office to launch Amstrad.
• Selling radio aerials for automobiles and other electrical goods, Alan Sugar first operated out of a van he had purchased for £50 and had insurance for £8.
Alan Sugar Listed on the London Stock Exchange: 
• Amstrad increased its profit and market value annually throughout the 1980s, and Alan Sugar was floated on the London Stock Exchange in 1980.
• In 1984, Amstrad introduced the Amstrad CPC 464, an 8-bit computer, after seeing the potential of the home computer age.
Alan Sugar Released the PenPad, a PDA:
• In 1993, Alan Sugar moved away from computers and toward telecoms by releasing the PenPad, a PDA, and investing in Betacom and Viglen. 
• The e-m@iler, the first of Alan Sugar's hybrid email and phone devices, was released. 
Alan Sugar teamed up with Terry Venables:
• In June 1991, Alan Sugar and Terry Venables acquired Tottenham Hotspur.
