Mary Higgins Clark, better known as Mary Theresa Eleanor Higgins, is one of the bestselling American suspense authors. In the United States alone, her 24 novels have sold more than 80 million copies, making them all chartbusters. Originally from the Bronx, she was born on December 24, 1929. As a result of the Great Depression and the sudden death of Higgins' father, her parents were Irish immigrants who ran a pub. This pub had to be closed by the time Higgins was eleven due to declining business conditions.
Career:
1949: Mary Higgins Clark was an international flight attendant for Pan Am; she traveled throughout Europe, Africa, and Asia for most of 1949. 
1949: Having completed her flying year, Higgins Clark married Warren Clark on December 26, 1949.
1974: A hundred thousand dollars were paid for the paperback rights to the novel three months later,.
2010: La Sabotière, a Paris-based production company, has been developing television films based on her crime novels since 2010.
2019: Montreal-based Reel One Entertainment announced a partnership with Mary Higgins Clark to develop a crime novel anthology series based on her novels.
202: She also published an autobiography, Kitchen Privileges, with a heavy reliance on the journals she kept throughout her life, in 2002, the same year as Aspire to the Heavens, her first novel about George Washington.

His doctor ordered Warren Clark to curtail his activities in 1959 when he was diagnosed with severe angina.
