Denise Austin was born on 13th February 1957. She was also a journalist, a fitness instructor, an author, and a former member of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. She attended the University of Arizona on a gymnastics scholarship and placed ninth in the NCAA on the balance beam. Her long-running exercise television program Getting Fit with Denise Austin has been rerun on ESPN Classic and Altitude Sports and Entertainment.

• Denise Austin promoted the Reebok Freestyle sneaker in the 1980s, the first athletic shoe designed for women. I loved my time as the first spokesperson for the first aerobic shoe," Austin wrote on Facebook on 22nd November 2019.
