Jodie Foster began her career when she was just two years old. She worked on advertisements for four years before making her acting debut in the Mayberry R.F.D. television series (1968). Jodie received a role offer for the prostitute, Iris Steensma, in the 1975 film Taxi Driver (1976). She earned top honors in her class at the College Lycée Français in 1980 before enrolling in Yale University's English Literature program, where she later earned a magna cum laude degree in 1985.
