Dwayne Douglas Johnson, better known as The Rock, was born in 1972 in California. Dwayne's early years were spent traveling with his parents and watching his father wrestle. Dwayne began playing football in high school, and the University of Miami soon after recognized his extraordinary skill and awarded him a full sports scholarship. Dwayne was unable to participate in the NFL in 1995 due to a back ailment. The Canadian League then offered him a three-year contract, but he left after only one year to pursue a wrestling career.
