Denzel Washington was born in New York in 1954. Denzel studied at Fordham University after finishing high school with the goal of pursuing a career in journalism. He participated in student drama plays, though, and got the acting bug. The drama was titled "Wings of the Morning," and it was about the establishment of Maryland's colonial assembly and the creation of the state of Maryland (a legislative body).
