Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia, well-known as Akshay Kumar, is a famous Hindi actor, film producer, martial artist, and television personality who is Indian-born and naturalized in Canada. He has starred in over 100 films throughout his career and has won numerous awards, including two Filmfare Awards and a National Film Award for Best Actor. Kumar is one of Hindi cinema's most successful actors. By 2013, he had become the first Hindi film actor to have a domestic net lifetime collection of more than ₹20 billion (US$260 million).

On January 17, 2001, Akshay Kumar married Twinkle Khanna, the daughter of actors Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia.
