Richard Harding Davis (April 18, 1864 – April 11, 1916) was an American journalist and writer who covered major wars such as the Spanish–American War, Second Boer War, and World War I. He played a key role in the evolution of American magazines and was instrumental in shaping the political career of Theodore Roosevelt. Davis is also credited with popularizing the clean-shaven look for men in the early 20th century. He authored several books, including Soldiers of Fortune, which was later adapted into a play and a movie.
