Chidambaram Subramaniam, a known Indian politician, and Independence activist was born on January 30, 1910, in Tamil Nadu. As Indian Minister for Food and Agriculture, Bharati Ratna Chidambaram Subramaniam is often referred to as the "Father of the Green Revolution". While in his capacity as "Minister for Food and Agriculture", he ushered in the Indian 'Green Revolution' along with "B. Sivaraman", "M. S. Swaminathan," and "Norman E. Borlaug". As a result, India experienced increased agricultural yields during this time and developed high-yielding wheat varieties that enabled the nation to become self-sufficient in grain production.
