Elaine de Kooning, a well known American abstract expressionist painter, was born in Arizona. American abstract art painter Elaine de Kooning was a member of the New School of artists. She moved to the US as a young child after being born in the Netherlands. De Kooning studied at the Hans Hofmann School of Fine Arts after graduating from the Leonardo da Vinci Art New York City school. The tremendous feeling of movement and expressive brushstrokes of De Kooning's artwork are well known.
