About (Profile/Biography):
The musician George Roger Waters was born on September 6th, 1943. Among his many talents, he is a musician, songwriter, and composer from England. His involvement in the progressive rock band Pink Floyd dates back to 1965, when he was a co-founder. Initially, Waters served as the group's bassist, but after singer-songwriter Syd Barrett left the group in 1968, he became not only the group's lyricist, but also a co-lead vocalist and conceptual leader of the group until his departure in 1983.
Roger Waters Career:
There was a time when Waters, Mason and Wright played music together for the first time in late 1963, in a band that was formed by Keith Noble on vocals and Clive Metcalfe on bass.
As a result, Waters switched from guitar to bass, and the group became known as the Abdabs, or Screaming Abdabs, in January of 1964.
Leonard's Lodgers, Spectrum Five, and Tea Set were the names that the band used during the last months of 1964.
During the second half of 1965, the Tea Set changed their name to the Pink Floyd Sound. This became the Pink Floyd Blues Band later on and Pink Floyd by the beginning of 1966.
There was a final performance that Mason, Wright, and Gilmour performed together in July 2005, and it was Waters' final performance with them.
As part of her cover album, Waters released "We Shall Overcome" in June 2010.
Roger Waters Unknown Trivia Facts:
A letter written by Waters in Salon in 2015 criticized Bon Jovi for playing in Tel Aviv, where the band was scheduled to perform.
