Duff "Rose" McKagan is an American musician born on February 5, 1964. He achieved worldwide success with the band between the late 1980s and the early 1990s. In addition, many short-lived projects have been done with Mike McCready (primarily of Pearl Jam) and Barrett Martin (formerly of Screaming Trees), including Walking Papers and Levee Walkers.
Duff McKagan Career:
• 1979: Duff McKagan played bass in The Vains when he was 15 years old. Nico Teen was his stage name during this time. A single from the band "School Jerks" was released in 1980.
• 1980: Duff McKagan joined the pop-punk band The Fastbacks as drummer in 1980. A year after his first performance with No Threes Records, he appeared on its debut single, "It's Your Birthday."
• 1982: Duff McKagan played drums for the hardcore punk group The Fartz in 1982 and recorded several demos for their 1990 album You, We See You Crawling.
• 1985: Duff McKagan replaced bassist Ole Beich in Guns N' Roses in March 1985, when Axl Rose, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, lead guitarist Tracii Guns, and drummer Rob Gardner were about to form Guns N' Roses.
• 2002: Duff McKagan formed the supergroup Velvet Revolver with former Guns N' Roses bandmates Slash and Matt Sorum, as well as Loaded guitarist Dave Kushner. Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland completed the line-up.
• 2006: Duff McKagan briefly joined Alice in Chains in 2006, performing with the band at VH1's Decades Rock Live concert honoring Heart[39] and again during their reunion tour.
