In 1980: Butch Vig began his music career as a drummer, performing in local bands and gaining experience through live performances.

In 1991: Vig rose to prominence as a producer with his work on Nirvana's breakthrough album "Nevermind," released in September 1991. The album's success catapulted Vig's reputation as a producer and brought widespread recognition to his unique production style.

In 1993: He worked with The Smashing Pumpkins to co-produce their critically praised album "Siamese Dream," demonstrating his aptitude for capturing a wide variety of sounds and crafting sonically complex songs.
