Julius Fast (1919-2008) was an American author and journalist known for his work on nonverbal communication and body language. Born in New York City, Fast studied at the University of North Carolina and later served in the US Army during World War II. His writing has appeared in the New Yorker and Saturday Evening Post, among other publications. However, fast is best known for his book "Body Language," which popularized the concept of nonverbal communication in the 1970s.

The 1950s: Julius Fast began to publish his books, including "Watch Your Language" (1950), "Out of Sight" (1952), and "Body Language" (1957), which would become his most famous work.
